The San Mateo County Fair www.sanmateocountyfair.com is represented in two wins from the Peninsula Arts Council’s yearly Diamond Awards: Bardi Rosman Koodrin and Sean Traynor. These two impressive honorees will receive their awards at the PAC’s 11th annual event on Jan 25, 2013 at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos. The Diamond Awards recognize artistic achievement in San Mateo County in nine categories.

Bardi Rosman Koodrin, Literary Director of the Fine Arts Galleria at the San Mateo County Fair, has won a Special Recognition award for her work over the past five years, which features: free writing workshops, readings, and Author Book Day with over 30 writers autographing their work. Carry the Light, a 300-page anthology of fair entrants’ work available on www.amazon.com/Carry-Light-Stories-Essays-County/dp/1937818055 was published by Sand Hill Review Press http://www.sandhillreviewpress.com in 2012, a first for a western region county fair. Bardi looks forward to orchestrating the 2013 Fair’s literary stage events and the publication of the second Carry the Light anthology.
Sean Traynor, a local high school senior, is a recipient of the Ray Lorenzato Young Artist. Bardi first met Sean when he won a number of the San Mateo County Fair literary contests, including a Best of Show when he was just fifteen. He went on to win the 2012’s fair contest for a $20,000 Creative Writing Scholarship sponsored by Notre Dame De Namur University.
